Research on Sustainable Housing Complexes in Poland

During the 1990's, prior to joining SU-PER-B, our Executive Director participated in a large US$ 25 million GEF grant program to Reduce Global Greenhouse Gas Production in Poland via Coal-to-Gas boiler conversions. As part of this overall project, he work with the Polish Environmental Bank (BOS) to produce a very successful US$ 1 million effort that provided financial incentives to enable 10 very energy efficient multifamily housing complexes to be constructed in cities across Poland; energy use of these complexes was 30% to 50% less than what was required by the Polish energy code.

The Polish Environmental Bank (BOS) provided administrative support. The project was managed by the World Bank and funded by the Global Environmental Facility (GEF).
